Timacuan
Planned Golf Community in Lake Mary, Florida
Built on 400 acres of former orange groves and farmland, Timacuan is made up of nine neighborhoods and a golf and country club, situated in beautiful Lake Mary in Central Florida. The largest of the neighborhoods, Fairway Hills, has about 200 homes while the others—Clubhouse Cove, Eagle Run, Hopewell Creek, Hunters Ridge, Lake Dawson, Signature Cove, Stratton Hill and Summerlin—have just 20 to 70 homes each. The distinct differences among neighborhoods ensure a home style for every taste, and the scenic Timacuan golf course that's woven throughout the community appeals to all nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Preserved areas and open spaces encourage wildlife galore, from leggy Egrets to ground-hugging turtles and varieties in between.
Part of the top rated Seminole County school system, Timacuan area schools offer excellent education opportunities. In fact, Seminole High was ranked one of the best high schools in America by "Newsweek Magazine." Middle school students may choose to attend magnet programs, and five excellent elementary schools are open to Timacuan residents.

Several neighborhood clubs offer social and charitable functions such as family-friendly outings, holiday celebrations, parties and playgroups. One volunteer group works with the city of Lake Mary to improve amenities at local parks. Other club members belong to the Red Hat Society, Seminole Spokes, the Lake Mary Seniors Club and the Women's Investment Group.
Meandering through the Timacuan neighborhoods is the semi-private, independently owned Timacuan Golf and Country Club. Designed by Ron Garl in 1987 and renovated by Bobby Weed in 1996, this meticulously maintained course boasts two distinctively different nines. The front nine feels Scottish, with expansive rolling fairways and three water hazards. The back is more like a Carolina course with moss-draped oaks and water everywhere. Timacuan is ranked among the top 20 golf courses in Florida for its challenging play and stunning scenery. A driving range, practice greens, pro shop and dining facility round out this unique golf and country club.
If golf is not your game, all types of activities are available nearby in Lake Mary, some within walking distance. Lake Mary's many parks, recreation complexes and lakes have facilities for football, baseball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, hiking, biking, picnicking… you name it. You'll also find shops, restaurants, theatres and business centers to meet all your family's needs.
If you're relocating to Central Florida, take a look at Timacuan. As soon as you enter this community and experience its style and beauty, you'll know you've come home.
